The projects and programs below showcase just some of Stef's work as a consultant and speaker. All work Stef has done with NCCS has been on an individual volunteer basis as a member of the Cancer Policy & Advocacy Team.

2023 Buckeye Nursing Story Slam

Stef spoke on stage at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH after being selected to speak about her experience as a nurse and survivor. The theme for the Story Slam was Finding Joy through Adversity and featured six speakers. You can find the videos for the others here!

Patient Storytelling w/ OncoZenge AB

OncoZenge is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Sweden creating non-opioid medication for oral pain relief. Stef created a video describing the effects of oral pain (not a review of the product) and worked with the company to enhance their patient perspective for working with various stakeholders. This work was featured in OncoDaily

NCCS Cancer Policy Roundtable Fall 2024

I was asked to present as the opening speaker, briefly telling my story and providing the patient perspective on AYA cancer survivorship and the importance of peer support and trauma-informed care. You can read about it here!

Identifying gaps and offering solutions in cancer screening for gender diverse populations

Stef's review of barriers to cancer screening in gender diverse populations and suggested interventions to increase engagement of this population was published in the April 2025 issue of Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing (CJON)! Link to the article here
